Job Description

Arrise Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. (Powering PragmaticPlay) is looking to hire Back-end Engineering Manager, who will be responsible for leading teams of diverse groups of people who are moving towards realizing Pragmatic Play’s vision. They are responsible for building high-performing teams where each team member feels the impact of their work. EMs also set the direction for the team and support people in their career growth. They ensure that the teams have an inspiring vision for the future. The teams work on a spectrum of products which power Arrise. EMs provide technical leadership to identify and define the right component/system abstractions/capabilities for current/future product/platform asks. One of the key responsibilities of an EM is to understand business goals and contribute to product strategy and take accountability for moving key business metrics. They are also responsible for driving execution using agile methodologies by removing impediments along the way with the big picture in mind.


 

What you will need -


  • B.E/B.Tech or any other similar qualification with experience as a tech leader and people manager for at least 5+ years and 10+ years total experience
  • Experience of managing teams and delivering high-quality projects on time
  • Experience with building, developing and coaching teams of best technical talent in the Industry
  • Experience with managing diverse teams and delivering high-quality projects on time
  • Deep understanding of technology and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup
  • Experience with new open source technologies and their adoption into product development etc.
  • Prior development experience in Core Java Programming and related backend Java Frameworks like Spring
  • Has good idea of messaging and/or streaming platforms like RabbitMQ, Kafka etc.
  • Good at problem solving skills
  • Must be comfortable with thread-safe code in java. Knowledge on advanced concurrency concepts that involve lockless operations is a definite plus.
  • Knowledge on design patterns
  • Firm believer in TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Experience with new open source technologies and their adoption into product
  • Strong experience in working on highly scalable systems
  • Self-driven, responsible, and keen eye to details
  • Strong collaborator and has skills to participate/guide technical discussions

As a Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to-


  • Hire, Build, lead, develop and coach teams of top technical talent
  • Drive strategy and vision in collaboration with Product
  • Manage diverse stakeholders and drive project execution including but not limited to business, Product, Operations, and clients/vendors.
  • Build scalable and reliable technology solutions at a rapid pace
  • Facilitate discussions and leading decision-making on all engineering aspects of your team.
  • Able to define and execute the engineering plans for the areas under your ownership.
  • Drive engineering best practices for the team.
  • Define, implement and maintain the hygiene of the products (both engineering and processes) for the areas under your ownership.
  • Responsible for the health of the business directly owned by the team.
  • Challenging business & product on outcomes, channelize feedback into execution, and being accountable for engineering outputs.
